GDPR - Naíonra Naithí Privacy statement

Naíonra Naithí strives to ensure that we are transparent in how we collect and process the personal data of the children under our care, with regard to:

1.       What data we collect,

2.       Why we collect it,

3.       How we collect it,

4.       How we store it,

5.       How long we store it for,

6.       Who we can share it with, and;

7.       Your rights with regard to it.

By registering your child to attend Naíonra Naithí, you agree that the Naíonra may process personal data relating to you and your child in the manner outlined.

 

What data do we collect?

Personal data in this case means:

·         Your child’s name, address and date of birth

·         Your name(s), address(s), PPSN, Contact details – phone and e-mail.

·         PPS number of your child

·         Information on your child’s health and medical needs*

·         Information on your child’s language(s)

·         Contact details for the adults who have permission to collect your child from the Naíonra

*This information is considered to be sensitive personal data.

 

Why do we collect this data?

We collect this data so that we can look after your child’s needs in the Naíonra and communicate effectively with you as his/her parent/guardian/representative. The care and welfare of your child is foremost in all of our policies, and we ask for this personal data to ensure that we can give him/her every support and care for his/her needs – educational, health, language, cultural and other – and to keep your child well, happy and safe.

How do we collect this data?

We collect data on the Application Form you complete when you place your child’s name on our Waiting List.

We ask for the data we need on the Registration Form and the Medical Treatment Agreement Form, which you complete when you register your child with us.

Data is also collected when registering your child for participation in the ECCE scheme.

 

How do we store the data?

The data is processed and stored at Naíonra Naithí, F/Ch Scoil Naithí, Bóthar Átha Leathan, Baile an tSaoir, BÁC 16.

A “Backup” is also kept off-site within the EEA.

 

How long do we keep the data for?

We are required to keep the data for 2 years after your child has left the Naíonra. Should we need to retain any data for longer than that, the reason for doing so and the term for which it needs to be kept will be discussed with you.

We are required to keep data related to accidents and incidents that happen in the Naíonra until the child is 21 years of age.

All data will be permanently destroyed as soon as we are no longer required to keep it.
