WHat is a ‘naíonra’?
A Naíonra is when a group of 3-5 year olds come together with an early childhood educator to provide a preschool education through the medium of Irish.
Does my child need to have irish to attend the naíonra?
Your child does not need to have Irish to attend the Naíonra. We support each child individually at their own level.
How many sessions do you have each day?
How many children/educators do you have in the naíonra?
Does naíonra naithí have fees?
What age can my child start in the naíonra?
How do I register my child in the Naíonra?
Naíonra Naithí runs two sessions every day. The first session runs from 8.30am - 11.30am and the second from 11.30am-2.30pm.
There are 20 children in each session in Naíonra Naithí and at least four educators. That is a ratio of 5:1, or five children to each adult.
Naíonra Naithí is a participant in the ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) scheme that funds free Early Years Education but for those who are not participating in this free year there is a monthly fee.
Naíonra Naithí accepts children who are over three years of age and who are independently toileting.
